Begur is a municipality located in the heart of the Emporda and is known for its historic center but also for its typical Costa Brava rugged coastline of about 15 km with beautiful bays and beaches such as Sa Riera, Aiguablava, Sa Tuna and several more.
From most places you can enjoy a magnificent view over the bay of Estartit, the Bay of Roses and Cap de Creus with the French littoral.
It is therefore not surprising that many homeowners have found their home here.
Begur has a rich history; the most tangible proof of this is the medieval castle situated on the highest point of the city, but Begur owns many other buildings of historical value, such as the Casino Cultural, Torre Pella y Forgas and not to forget the Ermita de San Ramon.
Very well known are the colonial houses, introduced by residents of Begur who after they had emigrated to America in the Depression came back with capital to invest this in local real estate.
Very nice is the area around the church with the square and the narrow streets with a wide and varied range of good restaurants and bars.
Most of the villas and houses are located outside the city in the vast region bordering the rugged Costa Brava coastline and near the many picturesque beaches and bays, which belong to the municipality of Begur.
